2019 Women's Soccer Roster
Biography
They say that some things were just meant to be. For Drew Kennedy – from West St. Paul, Manitoba – the plan was not to stay home to attend university and play soccer in her home province. Yet, she is now a member of the Bison’s women’s soccer team.
The move was heavily influenced by her high school soccer coach, and now, teammate Kailyn Balfour.
“In my fifth year, my high school coach Kailyn began speaking on my behalf and introducing me to the program,” said Kennedy. “With her leading me in the right direction, I realized that the U of M was the right program for me.
The defender joins the Bisons from FC Northwest, having also represented Team Manitoba at the 2017 Canadian Summer Games hosted by Winnipeg. Ahead of her second season in U SPORTS, Kennedy is taking a very optimistic approach to university-level soccer, a challenge which she had always wanted to take.
“Right now, I’m just riding the wave and trying to make the best of every opportunity I get.”
