2022 Women's Soccer Roster
Biography
Katelyn Isfeld is not unfamiliar to advanced levels of soccer. As a member of South End United’s youth soccer academy, Isfeld was given opportunities to train in England and Italy.
During the spring and summer of 2017, the Winnipeg native was invited to train with English club Wolverhampton Wanderers, AS Roma and the Pro Calcio academy in Italy. Such experiences were a motivating factor in focusing on her soccer career.
“I have had the opportunity to go to many places because of soccer, I have gone to Italy and England, and just being in an environment where people have so much passion for this sport really inspired me and caused me to really fall in love with the sport,” she said.
The playmaking midfielder has been involved with soccer since the age of four yet was uncertain about her potential with soccer until middle school. It was around this time in her life that Isfeld targeted university-level soccer in the future.
“I have always been a very competitive person which caused me to always strive to be at the highest level I could be," she said.
“I didn't know where I wanted to go with soccer until I was around 12 or 13 where I actually set a goal for myself to play for a high-level university team.”
There is plenty for the Bison’s women’s soccer team to be excited about regarding Isfeld’s potential, especially having experienced the soccer culture in two countries that live and breathe the beautiful game.
