Ten Former Bisons on Rosters for Start of 2007 CFL Season

The 2007 Canadian Football League (CFL) season begins on June 28 with the Manitoba Bisons football team contributing numerous alumni throughout the league. There are ten former Bisons on active CFL rosters (plus one former Bison as a CFL coach) for the start of the 2007 season. The Calgary Stampeders have the most Bison alumni with three players while the Winnipeg Blue Bombers have two former Bisons (plus one former Bison coach) each on their 46 person lineup. The newest Bisons addition to an active CFL roster were wide receiver Blair Atkinson who made the Bombers lineup for tonight.s season opener against the Edmonton Eskimos and 2006 Canada West Defensive Player of the Year . linebacker Cory Huclack with the Montreal Alouettes. Overall, the Bisons have players in seven of the eight teams in the league with one of the most representation of players from any CIS team. Bison football head coach Brian Dobie commented, .We are excited and proud to see so many former Bisons playing professionally. We congratulate both Blair Atkinson and Cory Huclack in making their first CFL active roster appearance and wish them well in the future..
