Men's Volleyball

Bison volleyball teams host high ranked Trinity Western during a weekend series on November 29-30 at Investors Group Athletic Centre

On Friday night, women start at 6 p.m. CT; men at 8 p.m. CT then Saturday at 5 and 7 pm

The Manitoba Bisons volleyball teams host the high ranked Trinity Western Spartans during a weekend series on November 29-30 at the Investors Group Athletic Centre (U of Manitoba campus). On Friday night, the women's match will be at 6 p.m. CT and the men's is scheduled for 8 p.m. CT while on Saturday, matches starts at 5 p.m. for women and 7 p.m. for men.

In the conference season, the Bison women's volleyball team (6-4) remains at the highest position so far this season in the CIS Top 10 at number four after splitting at Alberta last weekend. The Trinity Western women's volleyball team also sports a 6-4 record and is ranked number five in the country after splitting weekend series vs. Regina.

In Canada West stats, the Bisons are fourth in hitting percentage at .188, seventh in opponents hitting percentage at .169, fourth in assists at 11.63 per set, fourth in conference kills at 12.26, eighth in blocks at 2.05 per game, seventh in service aces at 1.55 and second in conference digs at 14.84. Individually, Jordana Milne is tenth in conference hitting percentage at .280. Taylor Pischke is fifth and Rachel Cockrell is eighth in conference kills at 3.53 per set and 3.34. Brittany Habing is second in conference assists at 10.39 while Caleigh Dobie is tied for third in Canada West digs at 3.63 per set. Cockrell is fifth (3.96 per set) and Pischke is seventh (3.94) in conference points.

The Bison men's volleyball team (5-5) continue to move up the CIS Top 10 as they started last week to be ranked for the first time in ninth spot and now at number six after split at Alberta last weekend The Trinity Western men's volleyball team (9-1) is ranked second in the country and swept Regina last weekend.

In Canada West stats, the Bisons men are eighth in hitting percentage at .229, sixth in opponents hitting percentage at .246, fifth in assists at 11.49 per set, fifth in conference kills at 12.13, tenth in blocks at 1.81 per game, eighth in service aces at 1.13 and 11th in conference digs at 8.93. Individually, Kenny Rooney is fourth in hitting percentage at .401. Devren Dear is seventh in conference kills at 3.62 per set. Luke Herr is second at 10.40 per set in conference assists and sixth in service aces at 0.33 per set. Rooney is ninth in Canada West blocks at 0.96 per set while Dear is eighth in conference points at 4.10 per set.
