Alyssa Robinson hopes the highlights keep coming.
The fifth-year Bison midfielder had the best result of her university career after scoring two goals in Canada West action on the Sept. 11-13 weekend.
Robinson, who netted one each against the University of Saskatchewan and the University of Regina, added an assist as well. The swing through Saskatchewan, with one win and one loss, leaves the Bisons atop the Canada West Conference standings with a 2-1-1 record.
The 22-year-old Nutritional Sciences student would like to see the Bisons keep rolling.
"We'd like to make it to the playoffs for sure," said the Oak Park High School graduate who in addition to winning a soccer title in her senior year in 2011 captained the provincial champion girl's hockey team as well. "Just try and get as many points as we can."
Bison coach Vanessa Lagunas-Martinez says the former Portage Trail Soccer Club standout has been playing at a high level since the start of the campaign – and that her dedication to fitness and great technical ability has led to the on-field success.
"Alyssa is having a great season, probably the best of her Bison career and I hope she continues with that," said Martinez Lagunas.
Robinson, who was named Smitty's Bison Female Athlete of the Week for her efforts for week ending Sept.13/15 , leads her team into a crucial series against tough Alberta competition on the weekend. The Bisons take on the Grant McEwan on Saturday, Sept. 19 and make the three-hour trip south to face the Mount Royal in Calgary on Sunday, Sept. 20.
