Bison women’s soccer advance to the Canada West Select Six and play in first match against UBC on Thurs., Nov. 4 at 6 p.m. CT

Trinity Western University host the four day tournament which runs from November 3-6

The Bison women's soccer team made playoff history by knocking off the top ranked team in the Prairie Division and #5 Calgary Dinos on the road by a 1-0 win in the conference Prairie Division Play-in playoff match on Saturday, October 29.

With the post-season win, the Bisons earned their first playoff victory since the 2008 season and Manitoba's playoff record so far in the program's history is now 3-5 in the program's 12 year history.     

Manitoba advance to the Canada West Select Six and play in first match against the UBC Thunderbirds on Thursday, November 4 at 6 p.m. CT.
Trinity Western University host the four day tournament which runs from November 3-6.

The top three teams in the Select Six will qualify for the national championships at Acadia University in Wolfville, NS from November 10-13. Manitoba is seeking to play in a national championship for the first time in program's history.

Manitoba needs to win two matches to clinch one of the three conference berths into the nationals.

Game 3: 3 p.m. CT – TWU vs. Winner of Game #2
Game 4: 6 p.m. CT – MacEwan vs. Winner of Game 1
 
Sunday, Nov. 6
Game 5: 3 p.m. CT – Bronze medal match
Game 6: 6 p.m. CT – Gold medal match


Bison Notes: This is the second meeting between the Bisons and UBC this season as the Herd lost a close 2-1 decision at home on Oct. 22/16. Manitoba has only met meet UBC once in the playoffs as they played in 2008 when they lost 1-0 in the bronze medal match in conference Select Six.
