The Bison volleyball teams host season opener weekend series against Brandon on Friday, October 20 and then Saturday, October 21 at the Investors Group Athletic Centre (U of Manitoba campus). On Friday, the women's game will be at 6 p.m. CT and the men's game is scheduled for 7:45 p.m. CT while on Saturday, men's start at 6 p.m. CT and women's at 7:45 p.m. CT. Tickets available at the door of IGAC.
The Bison women's volleyball team begins the season and face the Brandon Bobcats. Manitoba finished 11th in the conference last season with a 6-18 record and did not qualify for the playoffs. In 2016-17, Brandon ended up 8-16 and tied for eighth and also did not make the playoffs.
The two teams met in conference play last season when the Bobcats won 3-1 (Jan. 27/17) and 3-0 (Jan. 28/17) at Brandon. The Herd are coming off a strong 7-3 pre-season record for 2017 and one of the pre-season match wins occurred against Brandon.

The Bison men's volleyball team starts the season and battle the Brandon Bobcats. Manitoba finished first in the conference last season with a 21-3 record and qualified for the U SPORTS nationals and placed fifth. In 2016-17, Brandon were 14-10 and fifth while lossing to UBC in conference Quarter-finals.

Dustin Spiring). Head coach Garth Pischke continues to add to his record-setting coaching win total in his 36th season at the helm with the Bisons.
