The now #4 ranked Bison women's hockey team remain at home as they host the Lethbridge Pronghorns on November 17-18 weekend at the Wayne Fleming Arena (U of M Fort Garry campus). Puck drop versus the Pronghorns will be 7 p.m. CT on Friday and 1 p.m. CT on Saturday. Tickets available at the Arena door or at the Bison website (gobisons.ca).
The Bisons look to continue their winning ways as Manitoba holds a 7-3-0-0 record so far plus is on a five game conference winning streak while 3-1-0-0 at Wayne Fleming Arena this season. They play a second consecutive weekend at home.
Heading into the two game weekend series, Manitoba sits in second place in the Canada West standings with 21 points (three points given out for regulation win) and one point back of first place Saskatchewan. Lethbridge is sixth in the eight team conference with a 4-5-1-0 record for 11 points and has gone 1-3 on the road.
This is the first weekend series between the two teams this conference season. Later in 2017-18, the Herd will play at Lethbridge on February 2-3, 2018. In the 2016-17 season, Manitoba swept Lethbridge in four conference regular games and last lost to the Pronghorns at home on Jan. 23/16 (L 2-1).
Manitoba has four players in the Canada West Top 10 scoring. For the Bisons, third year forward Jordyn Zacharias (five goals, four assts) and fourth year forward Venla Hovi (2g, 7a) are in first place with nine points. Fourth year forward

In the nets, Bison first year netminder Lauren Taraschuk leads the conference with 0.94 Goals Against Average, third in CW Save Percentage at .954, tied for first with two shutouts and first with five conference wins. She had a shutout streak of 147:08 minutes.
Bison Notes: Manitoba has scored the most conference goals so far this season with 27 while allowing the sixth lowest goals at 21 entering the weekend series. In CW stats, the Bisons hold the number one power play at 27.7% (13/47) and even better at home with a 30% (6/20) power play.
