After day two of the 2018 Canada West Swimming Championships in Calgary, the Bison swim teams added to their good start. Third-year swimmer
Kelsey Wog added to Manitoba's medal total, winning the 100m breaststroke in 1:06.44 and the 200m freestyle in 2:00.45.
The breaststroke time was short of her own conference record, set in last year's event — still it was a sensational race, as she finished nearly a second clear of the second-place finisher. Wog has the potential for two more golds on Sunday, as she has the low qualifying time in the women's 200m breaststroke and 200m individual medley.
Manitoba now has five total medals at this weekend's Championship, as Wog has three golds while second-year swimmer
Dora Modrcin has a silver and a bronze.

The other Bison highlights from day two included four more top eight finishes, bringing the Herd's total to ten.
Fourth-year men's swimmer
Anthony Iliouchetchev finished fifth in the men's 50m freestyle (23.24); he was also a member of the Bisons' 400m freestyle relay team, who finished sixth (3:27.23). Iliouchetchev swam lead, with
Alex Shogolev,
Michael Lajoie, and
Reid Glatz rounding out the team.
On the women's side,
Dora Modrcin finished seventh in the women's 100m butterfly final. Modrcin swam second leg on the women's 400m freestyle relay, as the team finished fourth (3:50.89) just off the podium. Wog,
Alexandria Miko, and
Gio Wickett rounded out that team.
There are eight Bison women's swimmers at the conference championship, plus six men's swimmers. The three-day event concludes tomorrow, November 25.
