REGINA, SK — There was no denying Faith Reid and the Regina Cougars on Friday night, as the Manitoba Bisons ran into a buzzsaw of hot shooting on the road.
Reid tied a Cougars program record with seven made threes, her team made 13 altogether, and Regina (5-6) took an early lead and didn't give it up to Manitoba (2-9).
Reid had 27 points, while her teammate Jade Belmore — who went 9-for-14 from the field — had 23 and 14 rebounds.
The Bisons were led by eight points each from Taylor Randall and Emerson Martin. Lauren Bartlett had five points and five assists in the starting unit.
While Manitoba struggled from the field, shooting just 23.2% on the night, their bench came to play. Lovisa Fjellner and Emily Johnson combined for ten points, as Manitoba's second unit would score 23 to Regina's 26.
The two teams meet again tomorrow night. Tip-off in Regina is 6 p.m.
