Four Bisons named U SPORTS Football All-Canadians

It's the most for the program in 22 years.

KINGSTON -- Four Bisons football players were named U SPORTS All-Canadians on Thursday, the most for the program in 22 years.

Left guard Giordano Vaccaro, also the JP Metras Award winner as Lineman of the Year, along with left tackle Sean Rowe and running back Breydon Stubbs were named First Team All-Canadians, while defensive tackle Collin Kornelson was named a Second Team All-Canadian.

Vaccaro is an All-Canadian for the second straight year. He becomes the first Bisons offensive lineman to be named a back to back First Team All-Canadian since Chris Bochen in 2001 and 2002. A three-year starter who's played at left tackle and guard, Vaccaro, alongside fellow All-Canadian Rowe, and Mark Rauhaus (centre), Matt Stokman (right guard) and Victor Olaniran (right tackle) helped the Herd set a school record, with 2,016 rushing yards in 2024, which also led the nation. That total broke a 29-year school best by 168 yards.

Rowe earns his first All-Canadian nod in his second season at Manitoba. He's started two straight years at left tackle, and was the first player in school history to start as a 17-year-old true freshman at the position. Last year he was the Bison Sports Male Rookie of the Year, becoming the first offensive lineman in school history to accomplish the feat.

Rounding out Manitoba's First Team selections is running back Breydon Stubbs, also a first time All-Canadian in his fourth season.

Stubbs broke a 29-year school record for regular season rushing touchdowns, with 14 on the year, a total which led the nation by four. A four-year starter, his 162 total carries were also the most in U SPORTS, and he rushed for a career high 937 yards overall, second in the nation, just 15 shy of first. Overall, Stubbs has 2,096 regular season rushing yards, one of just six players to eclipse 2k in the regular season in program history.

Collin Kornelson also earned his first All-Canadian nod in his fifth year of eligibility at Manitoba. The Second-Team selection lined up at defensive end and tackle for Manitoba, posting a career-high 18 solo tackles while leading Manitoba with two sacks. The CFL Draft pick of the Winnipeg Blue Bombers was part of a Bisons defence that led Canada West with 34 combined takeaways.
