Women's Hockey Press Release

Women's hockey announce commitment of forward Seanna Price, defender Kurtia Yetman

The two local standouts have both worn letters in their hockey careers.

The Bisons women's hockey team added two of the province's top local talents this week, announcing the commitment of forward Seanna Price and defender Kurtia Yetman. Both athletes have worn letters in their hockey careers, demonstrating stellar leadership skill and on-ice talent.

Price, a Winnipeg native, has played for the Winnipeg Avros and Shaftesbury Titans since 2022. In the 2022-23 season, she was named the Avros' hardest working player, and she was the team's captain this past year.

Price was also an assistant captain for the Titans, and was a member of Team Manitoba's National Aboriginal Hockey Championship (NAHC) roster over the last two years. In the classroom, she's earned a West Winnipeg Athletic Conference Student Athlete Award each of the last three years and has been an honour roll student every year of high school.

She is described as "a great two-way player who was able to really excel into this role at the U18 level. Her "size and length to her game along with her high level of compete and passion for the game" will be a great asset.

Yetman is a product of Norway House, Manitoba who plays for Balmoral Hall, and also suited up for the Rink Hockey Academy from 2021-23.

She was a teammate of Price's during the NAHC, winning the championship in 2022 while claiming silver in 2023. She was Team Manitoba's captain in 2024.

Yetman provides "size and speed" to Manitoba's defensive core. She is noted for "her ability to see the ice offensively and exhibit patience with the puck."
