The Bisons women's hockey team can clinch a home playoff series this weekend when they welcome the Saskatchewan Huskies to Wayne Fleming Arena.
The Bisons have 13 wins, and 28 points, three ahead of Regina for second in Canada West's East Division. A victory on Friday or Saturday, or a Cougars loss, will give the Herd the right to host a quarterfinal series during the February 21st weekend.
Manitoba is 3-1 against Saskatchewan this season. They split their two most recent contests at The 'Flem, with the Bisons recording a combined 84 shots over two games.
Huskies goalie Colby Wilson, who's had a career year with four shutouts and 657 saves, allowed just three goals over the two games in mid January, including a clean sheet, 2-0 on the Friday.
The Herd responded on the Saturday, coming from behind in the third period to tie the game at two in the final 23 seconds, and then taking the game 3-2 in OT. It's the second time this year that Manitoba won in overtime against Sask, and the squad has three OT wins overall.

Kylie Lesuk scored the game-tying and winning goals in the Saturday matchup. She's one of six seniors, along with
Camryn Gillis,
Camille Enns,
Rachel Gottfried,
Hanna Bailey, and
Ashley Keller, who will be honoured in their final regular season home game on Saturday.
Statistically, Lesuk is tied with defenceman
Louise Fergusson for third in points, with ten, including two points in her last three games. Foward
Norah Collins leads the the Bisons with a career-high ten goals, one of 17 players in school history to reach double digits in the category.
Meanwhile, physical forward
Aimee Patrick leads Manitoba in points, with a career-high 17. She set up Lesuk's game-winner against Sask with a tape-to-tape pass from behind the net as the Herd's captain was sprinting onto the ice as part of a line change.
