After notable starts to their 2025 conference seasons,
Evelyn Lekivetz and
Ryan Blair have been named Bison Sports Athletes of the Week.Â
Lekivetz, a third-year midfielder for the Bisons women's soccer team, scored her first goal of the season against MacEwan in the second of a back-to-back against the Griffins. The tally came on a free kick from 20 yards out, where she bent the ball beautifully to reach the top corner. It was the second goal of Lekivetz's career. The Markham, ON native has started all 27 regular season games she's played in as a Bison, amassing 2,038 career minutes.Â
On the golf course, Blair made a notable debut for the Herd, shooting +1 with a two round score of 145 to finish in a tie for second at the Augsburg Invitational in Minnesota. His showing helped the Bisons to a second place finish overall, their best result at the event in eight years.Â
Blair is making his return to Canadian university sports following a notable career in the states. He spent multiple years at the junior college level in Phoenix with South Mountain, playing in ten combined spring tournaments including a tie for second at the Pima CC Invitational at -3 (141) in 2023. Most recently, he competed at the NCAA Division 1 level for the Niagra Purple Eagles in New York.Â
