Women's Volleyball Press Release

Women's volleyball announce commitment of Addison Benedict, Ana Jankovic

Both standout athletes have provincial honours to their name.

The Bisons women's volleyball team added two standout recruits to their 2026-27 class today, announcing the commitment of setter Addison Benedict and middle Ana Jankovic.

Benedict is a 5'7" Calgary, Alberta native. She's been a city and provincial champion, and has achieved honour roll status every year in the classroom.

Benedict was High School MVP for William Aberhart in an undefeated city championship season in 2024, and the Team Alberta selection was also provincial champion with the YYC Eagles in 2025.

"I'm thrilled to be joining the University of Manitoba Bisons volleyball program," she said. "The coaches, team values and positive environment make it a perfect place for me to grow as both a student and an athlete. I'm grateful for all the support I've had in my journey and can't wait to compete as a Bison!"

I am pumped to have Addison join the Herd in 2026! From the first time I watched her play I knew she would be a tremendous fit with our program," added head coach Ken Bentley.

"Addison has an extremely high level of volleyball IQ and plays with a calm and confident demeanor. Her visit to Manitoba proved to be the perfect fit for Addie and the Bisons women's volleyball program."

Jankovic, 6'1", is a Winnipeg native who was a Manitoba provincial all-star in 2024, and earned the Varsity Girls Award of Merit with Miles Mac in 2025.

An honour roll student, she repped Team Manitoba at the Canada Summer Games this year, and has been a member of WinMan at the club level from 2023-25.

"The Bisons have a legacy of success built on the foundation of a supportive culture," she said. I am thrilled to be a part of the next chapter in that legacy."

"We are thrilled to have Ana join us in 2026. I have seen her steady improvement through both club and high school, to the point where she made the Manitoba Canada Games Team this past summer, garnering significant playing time. All her coaches speak very highly of her character, and she has the physical ability to take on the challenge of playing the middle blocker position in Canada West," added Bentley.

"We always strive to keep the best and brightest in the province, and Ana is a great example of our recruiting philosophy."
