Tyrell Davis named to Team Canada's World Athletics Indoor Championship roster

Two-time defending women’s world indoor shot put champion Sarah Mitton headlines the squad representing the Maple Leaf March 20 – 22. Team Canada consists of: Aaron Ahl, Audrey Leduc, Avery Pearson, Christopher Morales Williams, Foster Malleck, Lucia Stafford, Mariam Abdul-Rashid, Sade McCreath, Sarah Mitton, Sienna MacDonald, Travis Campbell, Tyrell Davis, and Zoe Sherar.

Athletics Canada today announced the athletes competing at the 2026 World Athletics Indoor Championships in Kujawy Pomorze, Poland later this month, as well as the athletes subject to World Athletics Invitation. The three-day competition will be held at the Arena Torun from Friday, March 20 to Sunday, March 22. Included in the group representing Canada is Bisons sprinter Tyrell Davis, who earned his qualification after surging to national gold in the 60m in a time of 6.59 seconds at nationals this past weekend.

Davis broke his own school record along the way, becoming the first Bison to ever run sub 6.6. He also won gold as part of the men's 4x200 relay, becoming the first Bison to ever win gold in both events at nationals.

This is a great opportunity for Tyrell to take his performances to another level. He has worked very hard to get to the national team level and will get a chance to compete with and meet some of the best sprinters in the world. Bison Track & Field wishes him the best of luck at the World Indoor Championships!
