Junior Uzubahimana

Men's Basketball Press Release

RSEQ champ, Defensive Player of the Year Junior Uzubahimana joins the Herd

The Montreal native averaged 15.1 points, four rebounds, two assists and 1.6 steals for Dawson College.

The Bisons men's basketball team added a veteran presence from out east today, announcing the commitment of 6'3", 170-pound shooting guard Junior Uzubahimana.

The Montreal product helped lead CEGEP's Dawson College to an RSEQ Championship and CCAA national silver medal in 2023, among many other notable accomplishments.

"Junior will be a great addition to the Herd. He brings a maturity and experience that is exactly what we are looking for," said Bisons head coach Kirby Schepp.

"His competitive stamina and toughness will fit right in with the culture of the team."

A dynamic two-way guard, Uzubahimana was widely regarded as one CEGEP's top players during his time with the Blues. The team captain, he was the 2025 RSEQ Defensive Player of the Year and Team MVP, averaging 15.1 points, four rebounds, two assists and 1.6 steals per game.

Uzubahimana was also an RSEQ All-Star, and provincial silver medalist in 2022 and 2024, as well as a CCAA bronze medalist in 2022.

Prior to his time in CEGEP, Uzubahimana carved out a stellar high school career with Henri-Bourassa in Montreal, where he averaged over 20 points per game as an elite shooter and defender.
