While in high school, Tammy Mahon didn\'t only excel in volleyball, where she was a provincial champion and all star but was also a star in track and field competing in the high jump, where she still holds the high jump record in both the junior varsity (1.75m) and varsity girls (1.76m). She won the provincial high jump championship four years in a row! She also played basketball, winning the "A" girl's provincials in 1998 and being named MVP. That same year she was also named basketball player of the year. As her graduation approached in grade 12, she had to make the decision to either focus on the high jump in university, or play university level volleyball or basketball. She ultimately chose to play volleyball at the University of Manitoba.
When describing this decision, she actually says that volleyball chose her and not the other way around. She contributed to two back-to-back CIS Championships for the Bison's. Tammy also played high school girls baseball. When she graduated in 2003, she was named the Female Athlete of the Year for all Bison sports. Tammy was inducted into the Manitoba High School Sports Hall of Fame in 2011. She had played professionally in Europe for a number of years, and retired from the National Team this past summer.

Rick Watts
- was a multi sport athlete at Dakota Collegiate who played Basketball, Golf, Volleyball and Track and Field. While at Dakota, Rick was a member of the Provincial Finalists Basketball team in 1969 and 1971 and was captain, and Provincial All-Star, of the Provincial Champion 1970 team. In Volleyball he was captain and Provincial All-Star of both the 1970, and 1971 team that captured the Provincial Championship. In Track and Field Rick was a gold medalist in the 1970 high jump where he set a provincial record.
Rick went on to his chosen sport of Basketball where he captained the U of M Bison's from 1974 – 1976 and graduated as the U of M's all time leading scorer. Rick was also a member of the 1976 University of Manitoba Basketball team which captured the CIAU/CIS Championship game and he was selected as first team CIAU All Canadian and a tournament All-Star.  He was inducted into the Manitoba Sports hall of Fame in 2006 and the Manitoba High School Sports Hall of Fame in 2012.
