One of the top talents in Manitoba, Brooklyn Grobb-Prins returns home

The 6'3" left side has extensive experience at the national level, and has been an all-star and MVP at every level. The Junior Bisons alum returns to Manitoba after a year playing at the NCAA Division 1 level.

One of Manitoba's best and brightest talents is coming home. Today, the Bisons women's volleyball team announced the commitment of 6'3" left side Brooklyn Grobb-Prins. The Junior Bisons alum spent last season at the NCAA Division 1 level with the University of Texas at San Antonio.

Prior to her university days, Grobb-Prins was a mainstay at the national level. She made the Canadian U19 Developmental squad at just 14 years old, competed at the U21 Shanghai Future Stars Tournament and was a part of the U19 Canadian National Team Development Program. The Selkirk product also saw action with Team Canada White at the 2022 Canadian Cup, and spent her grade 11 season in BC training with the National Excellence Program (NEP).

The NEP featured five-day a week training with the national team coaching staff and support team. Grobb-Prins was one of 18 high school players (grades 10-12) selected, and the lone Manitoban.

Already touching 10-foot-1 in high school, Grobb-Prins was also Best of the West Tournament MVP in 2022, a two-time Provincial All-Star and 2023 Beach Provincial High School silver medalist. Further, she was an All-Canadian (2023-24), and took home provincial silver in 2024, along with a Manitoba Beach U18 gold medal, while also being named varsity volleyball MVP.

"Our program is excited to have Brooklyn join us for the 2026-27 season. As a Junior Bison athlete, we know that Brooklyn has loads of untapped potential to play at our level," said Bisons head coach Ken Bentley.

"She is a physical presence, and has all the tools to be an impact player at the highest level in U SPORTS. We envision Brooklyn contributing significantly to the next generation of our program as we re-tool to once again challenge the top programs in Canada West and U SPORTS."
