It's not every year the forecast for the Homecoming brings warm temperatures and sunny skies. This year, with pleasant weather ahead, it's just one more reason to get out and celebrate
UM Homecoming.
It's been two long years since the
Bisons football team played on their home turf. This year, their season opens with the Homecoming game against the Regina Rams on Saturday, September 25. Kick-off is at 2 p.m. at IG Field.
UM students, staff and alumni are
invited to this game for free but must claim mobile tickets for entry. With new
game day protocols in place, fans are being encouraged to arrive early with the first 300 receiving a coupon for concessions at the game and giveaways from
Alumni Relations.
Join the fun and celebrate Homecoming. Share your UM pride in your brown and gold and cheer on the team with UM President and vice-chancellor, Michael Benarroch who will be on hand for the traditional game-opening coin-toss before heading to the stands to root for the Bisons with the rest of the UM community.

Soccer hosts Duckworth Challenge opening match up
In its 30
th year, the
Duckworth Challenge gets underway on Thursday, September 23 at 6 p.m. at the West Turf Fields on Chancellor Matheson Boulevard (next to the Soccer South indoor soccer complex).
The challenge, introduced by the late Dr. Henry E. Duckworth (President of the University of Winnipeg from 1971-81 and Chancellor of the University of Manitoba from 1986-92) hoped for a cross-town rivalry between the two Winnipeg-based universities. After 29 years of competition, the Bisons lead Winnipeg 17-12.
The friendly challenge tallies the result after match ups in soccer, basketball and volleyball. Later this season, the Bisons will host volleyball while Winnipeg is scheduled to host basketball.
Tickets for Thursday's game are available at
Show Pass.
Game day protocols will be in place.
