The men's basketball team added a versatile force today, announcing the commitment of 6'7" forward Clarence Suter. The Edmonton, AB native most recently played for Western Canada Prep Academy, and is an 11-time medalist at various tournaments and events.

Suter – whose aunt attended the University of Manitoba – earned silver medalst at the WEBA Summer Kick-Off  (2022), during the Canadian Junior Basketball League (2023), at the Dime Sessions (2024) and at the ITD Invitational (2025).

Suter also won gold at the Good Hoops Classic on three separate occasions (2023-2025), the Good Hoops Summer Slam (2024-2025) the Primetime Sports Tournament  (2025) and at Swoosh Maximum Madness (2025).

I’m extremely honored to join the University of Manitoba’s basketball program and am eager to continue growing under Coach Kirby Schepp’s leadership. I look forward to contributing to the team’s success and becoming a part of the Bison family.
Clarence Suter

Suter – whose previous teams include Good Hoops Club and Uplay West – also received individual recognition at a variety of the tournaments and events he participated in, including the WEBA Summer Kick-Off Tournament (All-Star, 2022), Good Hoops Classic Tournament (MVP, 2024), Primetime Sports Tournament (MVP, 2025), ITD Invitational (First Team All-Star, 2025) and Swoosh Maximum Madness Tournament (MVP, 2025).

Clarence will be great addition to our front court. He is player that can play multiple positions and adds an element of toughness and an inside/outside versatility that is very valuable in CanWest play. Clarence is also a high character young man that we know can fit in great with What we have built here.
