Just one win separates 4-12 Lethbridge from 3-11 Manitoba in the standings for the final playoff spot in the Prairie Division, and the Pronghorns have played two games more than the Herd. The Bisons will aim for wins four and five against GMU, with history on their side. Manitoba has won six of their last seven against their Edmonton opponent.Â
The Bisons have showcased a balanced lineup this year, with ten different players averaging at least ten minutes played per contest. True freshman point guard
Taylor Schepp -- a Canada West Rookie of the Year candidate -- leads the way at 29 minutes player per game. She's averaging 9.3 points per game on the season, to go with 27 assists.Â
Last year's leading scorer
Anna Miko has maintained her consistency, pacing the Herd with 9.9 points per game. Her totals were boosted against 12-2 Alberta last weekend, where she notched 22 points in both games, setting a new two-game career high.Â
Miko is one of eight different members of Manitoba's roster who's scored in double figures this season. That group includes sophomore standouts
Darya Rom and
Paige Schatkowsky, who combined for 32 points in a 67-58 win over fifth-place Mount Royal two weeks ago on the road.Â
Rom -- the U of M's Female Rookie of the Year in 2024-25 -- drained a career-high 20 points in the contest, shooting 50 percent from three point range. Schatkowsky, a close friend and long-time teammate of Rom's, added 12 points against MRU, along with nine rebounds.
Kyu Fust chippec in ten field goals in the two game set against the Cougars, for a Bisons career-high 23 points over two games.Â
The Griffins have been paced by forward Unity Obasuyi, whose 15.9 points per game are tied for fifth in Canada West. Obasuyi has been particularly lethal from distance. Her 36 three-pointers leads the conference.Â
