Bisons Blair Macaulay named as 2012-13 CIS Men's Hockey First Team All-Canadian and James Henry named to 2012-13 CIS All-Rookie Team

Macaulay earns second consecutive All-Canadian selection in his four year career

The 2012-13 Canadian Interuniversity Sport (CIS) men's hockey All-Canadian teams and season honours were announced on Wednesday, March 13, 2013. The University of Manitoba Bisons men's hockey program had two players earn CIS recognition.

Bison men's hockey player Blair Macaulay was named as a 2012-13 CIS Men's Hockey First Team All-Canadian at the forward position. In addition, forward James Henry has been named to the 2012-13 CIS Men's Hockey All-Rookie Team. Macaulay was also a Senator Joseph A. Sullivan Trophy finalist for the 2012-13 CIS Player of the Year (won by Lucas Bloodoff from Saint Mary's University) while Henry was a Clare Drake Award finalist for the 2012-13 CIS Rookie of the Year (won by Mitch Porowski of Carleton).
 
Macaulay, 24, earned his second consecutive CIS selection (Second Team All-Canadian in 2011-12) during a fourth season at Manitoba.
The Winnipeg native was earlier named a 2012-13 Canada West Men's Hockey MVP (won this conference award in back-to-back years) and 2012-13 Canada West First Team All-Star after another impressive season. In 2012-13, the 5'11, 185 lbs. forward finished tied for 12th in CIS (second in conference) scoring with 35 points (12 goals, 23 assists) while playing all 28 conference regular season games.

An alternate captain this season, Macaulay was also Top 15 in several CIS categories including assists (tied for 14th with 23), game winning goals (tied for sixth with four) and shots on goal (fifth with 103).

Henry, 21, had a strong rookie campaign with the Manitoba Bisons men's hockey team. He was also a 2012-13 Canada West Most Outstanding Freshman (U of Alberta Alumni Trophy) winner after being third in conference rookie scoring with 22 points (eight goals and 14 assists) while playing in all 28 conference regular season games. With the Bisons, he was fifth in team scoring and fifth on the team with 14 assists. The Winnipeg native was also top Canada West rookie and tied for sixth overall with three game winning goals in 2012-13 season. The 5'9, 175 lbs. forward added a +6 plus/minus rating with one power play goals and 26 penalty minutes with Manitoba.
