Bison Ian Duval named as 2013-14 Canada West Men’s Hockey Second Team All-Star

Duval named to conference all-star team for first time during his fifth and final season at Manitoba

The 2013-14 Canada West men's hockey all-star, all-rookie teams and season honours were announced by the conference on Tuesday, March 4. The University of Manitoba Bisons had one player honoured and named as conference all-star.

Bison men's hockey forward Ian Duval was selected as a 2013-14 Canada West Second Team All-Star. 

Duval, 25, completed his fifth and final season with Manitoba and and earned his first conference All-Star selection. In the 2013-14 season, Duval averaged better than a point per game as he registered 25 points (ten goals, 15 assists) in only 23 conference regular season games. The 6'0", 185 lbs. forward was also tied for most power play goals (3) and best plus/minus rating (+11) plus added one shorthanded goal while being named an alternate captain for the first time during the 2013-14 campaign.

The Winnipeg native blazed to almost a point per game average as he has potted 99 points (36 g, 63a) in 117 conference regular season games with a +30 plus/minus rating. His best statistical season with the Herd was in the 2012-13 season when Duval finished fifth in conference scoring with 32 points (9g, 23a) while playing in all 28 regular season games and five playoff games.

The three time Mike Ridley Award winner did not missed a playoff game (23 in total) in his Bison career and also was part of 2009-10 Bison team that played for a CIS Championship at the 2010 University Cup.
