Due to new championship schedules released by U SPORTS, Canada West approved a change in dates for the CW Playoffs and Championships in basketball, men's hockey, wrestling and track and field on Thursday.

As part of this, the 2022 Canada West Track & Field Championships, set to be hosted at the James Daly Fieldhouse at University of Manitoba, has been moved back three weeks to March 18-19, 2022. The national championships follow from March 31 to April 2 at the University of New Brunswick.

Basketball, men's hockey playoff schedules also change

The 17-team playoff tournament in men's and women's basketball has now been pushed back a week to March 4-6. The successful teams will then have a bye week before the final four on March 18-20. As announced by U SPORTS earlier this week, the national championships will take place March 31 - April 3.

Men's hockey quarter-finals and semi-finals have also been delayed a week to Feb. 25-27 and March 4-6 respectively. The remaining teams will then have a week off before the finals on March 17-20. There are no changes to the CW playoff schedules for women's hockey, women's volleyball, or men's volleyball as the national championship dates remain the same.
